Celia Garcia

Dr Garcia is a Guggenheim Fellow, Professor at University of São Paulo (USP), at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Brazil and at Rutgers University at Pharmacology and Physiology Department, USA. Dr Garcia is the Director of the USP Nucleus for the Research on Cellular Signaling on Host-Pathogen interactions. Her work had dissected the molecular basis of Plasmodium signal transduction pathways for the control of its cell cycle. This is achieved by combined work on live cell microscope in conjunction with molecular biology techniques and drug screening . Dr Garcia is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
