Cathyryne Manner

Cathy is a Director at BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH), a Seattle, USA-based non-profit organization dedicated to solving global health issues by forming connections between people, resources, and ideas. She leads BVGH’s partnering and strategic planning activities for WIPO Re:Search, a global public-private partnership that accelerates the development of drugs, diagnostics, and vaccines for malaria, tuberculosis, and other neglected diseases by catalyzing the sharing of intellectual property with the global health research community; fostering research and development (R&D) collaborations; and building R&D capacity in low- and middle-income countries. Cathy has over 14 years of experience in facilitating and managing alliances to promote research for infectious and non-communicable diseases, advance product development, and improve health. Before joining BVGH, she was a Senior Program Officer at the Washington State Life Sciences Discovery Fund, where she was responsible for grant program development, technology evaluation, award management, and communications. Previously, Cathy was a Program Coordinator at SAIC (now Leidos), where she provided programmatic, scientific, and grant management support to the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). Cathy received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (cancer and neuroinflammation research) from the University of California (UC), San Diego, and her B.S. in Biochemistry from UC Davis.
