This paper will briefly discuss the present status of malaria transmission in the Solomon Islands to set the scene. I will then elaborate on some of the community engagement and social mobilisation programmes we have been engaged and some lessons learn from those experiences. These will include: the Tripod system in Santa Isabel – where church groups, local government and Chiefs/Communities with health worked together; the healthy village programme assisted by JICA; the schools engagement activities; and some of the health promotion activities we have implemented targeting particular social/community events.
