The governments of all GMS countries have committed to eliminate malaria from their countries within the coming decade. National strategic plans have been developed reflecting a convergence of opinions that quality implementation of malaria control measures reaching remote populations at risk is essential for malaria elimination, whereas the additional tools needed to accelerate malaria elimination for containment of multi-drug-resistant falciparum malaria are still a matter of debate. This final part of the symposium will discuss potential barriers and facilitators for wider implementation of the METF approach.
