Mainly a parasitologist (primarily but not only a medical parasitologist, with diagnostic and other expertise) and university academic. Inter alia, a graduate of Imperial College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, respectively. Author of several recent papers in which recurrence aspects of Plasmodium vivax biology are discussed, including articles in "Nature Reviews Microbiology" (2013); "Trends in Parasitology" (2012, 2015, 2016 & 2017); and the 4th edition of the "Encyclopedia of Parasitology" (ed. H. Mehlhorn), published by Springer-Verlag, Berlin & Heidelberg, Germany (2016).
