Scott Filler
Scott Filler MD, DTM&H is a medical epidemiologist with extensive experience in international health and currently works as the Global Fund’s Malaria Team leader. He has been with the Global Fund since 2011 and manages a team which provides internal malaria support and orchestrates external technical partnerships. Dr Filler came to the Global Fund from the United States’ CDC. His primary focus has been conducting operational research, translating research into policy and implementing large scale malaria and HIV programs. He has worked both for the US President’s Malaria Initiative and for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. While In the US, Dr Filler also was also an assistant professor at the Emory School of Medicine where he managed patients living with HIV/AIDS and trained future clinicians. Dr Filler has been involved in malaria research, policy development and program implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Americas
