Aung Myint Thu
Aung Myint Thu is a medical doctor from Myanmar with specialization in the tropical medicine. He is working at Shoklo Malaria Research Unit, Malaria Elimination Task Force (METF). METF is implementing malaria elimination project in 4 townships of Kayin state, Myanmar. The goal of the project is to eliminate malaria in the area in line with global agenda of malaria elimination and to integrate field research findings to support the knowledge, tools and evidence based implementation strategies for malaria elimination program in Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). Aung Myint Thu is responsible for medical coordination in the project including management of malaria cases, developing curriculum and training of malaria workers in the villages, coordination and analysis of antimalarial resistance molecular markers surveillance and genomic epidemiology.
