Günther Mate
Günther is a principal in ADB’s cofinancing department where he is driving the development of innovative financing solutions and partnership models to meet the needs of both ADB’s developing member countries as well as ADB’s financing partners and donors. As part of his activities, he supports the expansion and impact of the bank’s engagement in the health sector through targeted partnerships and tailored financial products. A 17-year veteran of structured and project finance, Günther has worked on projects in a variety of sectors around the globe and in both commercial as well as development settings with institutions such as European Investment Bank, KfW and the Canadian export credit agency EDC. Guenther holds advanced degrees in engineering and finance from the University of Technology Graz (Austria), University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) and McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
